Terms of Service

Private beta. Last updated 2026-08-26.

EchoTrellis is offered as a private, invite-only friend test. By signing in and using it, you agree to these terms.

Private Beta / Friend Test

EchoTrellis is under active development and being tried out by a small group of friend testers, not the general public. Features may change, break, or be removed; the service may be interrupted; and data may occasionally need to be reset as we work through the beta. We'll try to avoid surprises, but this is genuinely early software — please use it against Discord servers you're comfortable experimenting on, and keep your own backups of anything that matters to you.

Account and Access

EchoTrellis identity is entirely Discord-backed — there's no separate EchoTrellis password. You're responsible for keeping your own Discord account secure, since anyone who can sign in to your Discord account can sign in to EchoTrellis as you. Access to this private beta is invite-based; don't share your access with people it wasn't extended to, and don't attempt to access EchoTrellis using an account or invitation that isn't yours.

Discord Authorization

You choose which Discord server ("guild") to connect to EchoTrellis. You must have the actual authority to install and configure a bot on that server — don't connect a server you don't have permission to manage. You're responsible for complying with Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines whenever you use EchoTrellis to interact with Discord.

Permitted Use

Use EchoTrellis lawfully and only on servers and resources you're authorized to manage. Don't use it to gain unauthorized access to a Discord server, to interfere with the service, or to attempt to bypass its access or security controls.

Changes EchoTrellis Applies to Discord

EchoTrellis only changes your Discord server when you instruct it to, through a Change Plan you review yourself before approving. You are responsible for reviewing a proposed Change Plan before approving it — EchoTrellis shows you what it intends to do, but it applies exactly what you approve. Destructive changes (deleting channels, categories, or roles) require a policy you've explicitly enabled; they're never applied by default.

Free for Life

Some friend-test accounts are granted permanent "Free for Life" status. This means: for as long as EchoTrellis operates as a service, a Free-for-Life account will not be charged a subscription or usage fee for the core EchoTrellis product itself.

Free for Life applies only to the EchoTrellis product. It does not mean:

Those remain subject to their own access and usage terms — see "AI Features" below. We will not revoke a validly granted Free-for-Life status merely for ordinary business convenience, or to move you onto a paid plan. Free-for-Life access can still end if your account is suspended or terminated for the reasons described in "Suspension and Termination," or if EchoTrellis discontinues the service entirely, as described in "If EchoTrellis Shuts Down" — but a good-faith change to EchoTrellis's product or pricing for other accounts does not, by itself, take Free-for-Life status away from an account that already has it.

AI Features

AI functionality in EchoTrellis, where offered, is and will remain subject to account-level access entitlements, usage allowances, and the availability of the underlying third-party AI provider. We do not currently offer live AI functionality — this section describes how access will be controlled once we do, not a feature available today. AI access and allowances are independent of Free-for-Life status: having one does not guarantee or extend the other.

Bug Reports and Feedback

We welcome bug reports and feedback during this friend test, and EchoTrellis includes a tool for submitting them from inside the product. By submitting a report or feedback, you give us permission to use it to investigate, diagnose, and improve EchoTrellis. This isn't an assignment of your ideas, and it doesn't entitle you to payment, credit, or ownership over anything we build using it.

Availability

We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability during this private beta. We'll do our best to keep EchoTrellis reliable, but outages, maintenance, and occasional resets should be expected.

Intellectual Property

EchoTrellis retains all rights to its own software, design, and branding. You retain all rights to your own content and data, including your Discord server's structure and configuration — connecting a server to EchoTrellis doesn't transfer any ownership of it or its contents to us.

Third-Party Services

EchoTrellis relies on Discord and other infrastructure and communication providers to operate. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, separate from these.

No Warranty

EchoTrellis is provided "as is" during this beta period, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose — this is early, evolving software.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, EchoTrellis isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service during this beta period. Nothing here is meant to disclaim responsibility for things we can actually control and get wrong — it's meant to reflect that this is unpaid, early-stage software offered to a small group of friend testers, not a finished commercial product.

Suspension and Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to EchoTrellis — for any account, including a Free-for-Life account — for reasons such as abuse, security problems, unauthorized use, or a legal requirement. If we terminate an account for one of these reasons, that account's access and any Free-for-Life status end along with it. You may also stop using EchoTrellis at any time.

If EchoTrellis Shuts Down

Free for Life is a durable commitment for as long as EchoTrellis operates as a service — it is not a promise that EchoTrellis itself will exist forever. If we ever discontinue EchoTrellis entirely, all accounts' access, including Free-for-Life accounts, ends along with the service. We'll try to give friend testers reasonable notice if that ever happens.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as EchoTrellis evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
